CASSANDRA PECCHIA /   OCT   – Artistic Director

Cassandra’s passion for dance began at the age of four when she took her first tap class. Cassie-170x170A few short years later she became a competitive dancer, competing both locally and internationally.  She competed against dancers from all across North America, often winning top awards. Cassandra is trained in tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop, modern, lyrical and musical theatre. In high school, Cassandra attended Etobicoke School of the Arts as a dance major where she studied Cecchetti ballet and modern dance daily, and was a part of the dance program’s productions, such as Alice in Wonderland and Romeo and Juliet. It was around this time that Cassandra also began teaching dance to young children, which sparked her love of teaching. During her university years, she was teaching dance every night and on weekends to children from the age of two to eighteen in many different disciplines of dance. She also worked at a local community centre for the City of Toronto during the summer months as the head-counsellor of the dance camp, which she still remains a part of to this day. After university, Cassandra attended teachers college where she completed a Bachelor of Education in the primary/junior divisions. For a few years Cassandra actively pursued a profession in teaching, yet something always pulled her back to her roots in dance. Presently, Cassandra has opened up Dynamic Dance Arts with her cousin and close friend Shannen, where they hope to inspire their students and ignite the same passion for dance that they have throughout the years to come.


SHANNEN CLARK, BSc  – Artistic Director


Shannen began her dance training at the age of three after falling in love with the art form while watching her older cousin Cassandra perform. At the age of 8 she began to train as a competitive dancer and completed both locally andshannen-170x170 internationally. She has won various awards in her tap and contemporary solo’s as well as winning top overalls with her duets and trios. Shannen is trained in tap, jazz, ballet, acro, hip hop, contemporary, modern, lyrical and musical theatre. Shannen followed in her older cousin’s footsteps and attended Etobicoke School of the Arts where she majored in dance. She was intensely trained in Cecchetti ballet and Graham, Limon and Horton modern dance. She was part of the school’s dance company, DancESAtion, where she got the opportunity to perform lead roles in school productions, as well as train across the city with some of the modern industries well respected choreographers. While expanding her dance vocabulary in high school, Shannen also began teaching various recreational & competitive dance disciplines at a studio and community centre. In the summer months, Shannen was the coordinator of a dance camp with the City of Toronto. She continued her education at York University where she graduated with a Specialized Honors, Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology and Health Science, and has also successfully passed her registered Kinesiologist’s exam. Dance remained a big part of her life throughout university where she balanced teaching and schoolwork as well as being a member of the York Lions Varsity Dance Team, both performing and competing. She was a member of the Silhouettes Dance Company, choreographing and performing alongside many talented individuals for three years. She can’t wait to share her passion for dance with her students!


VICTORIA ELLINGHAM, S.R.B AFF., AAC1, AAC2 in training – Ballet/Acro Instructor

Victoria Ellingham has had victoriaellingham2the privilege of living and being raised both in Toronto, ON and Cambridge, England. Most of her dance training was in the former with ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, hip hop, modern, lyrical and Broadway. Victoria graduated from the dance program at George Brown in 2006 to then return to England for study at the Cambridge Performing Arts College and graduated in 2009 with a National Diploma in Professional Dance. Victoria has also obtained her BA Hons from Middlesex University. Since graduation, Victoria’s performance and dance work has included performing one of the lead roles of Redival in Ismailova Theatre of Dance’s piece “Till We Have Faces”, music videos, appearance in the film “11 Blocks”, dancer and choreographer in “Ode to Peace” at the Living Arts Centre (which was brought back a few months later thanks to demand), a feature on Vogue Italia’s site, modelling for PSB Speakers, ballet performance for the Italian Contemporary Film Festival, opening ballet piece for TATSUAKI during Toronto Fashion Week, performed at the Mississauga Ukrainian festival, performed at the Annual Celtic Beach Festival, performed on Breakfast Television during the feature on Cirque-It and was “The Ballerina” in short film “Art, Persona and the Act”, just to name a few. Victoria also performs with AfroLatino Dance Company, Diamond Dancers, Vesnianka Ukrainian Folk Dance troupe and owns her own jazz troupe “Lady Lace Dance”. Victoria is a recently certified Acrobatics Arts teacher and is currently undertaking her Masters in Education (Dance Teaching) through the Royal Academy of Dance and University of Bath. She is also trained and has performance/teaching experience in Brazilian Samba, Ukrainian Folk, Kathak, Highland, Cuban, Showgirl/Kick-line and Scottish Step. Victoria is looking forward to teaching at Dynamic Dance Arts this year!
